Not only did Finland celebrate the new year, they also celebrated their 100 years of independence from Russia, with the adoption of the Finnish Declaration of Independence having been signed on December 6, 1917.

This called for major celebration and what better way to party than with the country’s most iconic usual figures, Darude! When the clock hit midnight, residents were treated to “Sandstorm” along exquisite fireworks.
