Virtual Self’s first cycle through the festival circuit kicked off with a 90 minute set at Buku Music and Arts festival in New Orleans. The set opens with a unique audiovisual intro that gets to business quickly, with a thunderous kick. After overcoming a long technical difficulty that would have thrown anyone off guard, he comes back smoothly from the silence as if that 9 minutes were a planned meditation. After playing a.i.ngel (Become God), he stops the energy to start the second act as Technical_Angel. Unlike the trance-y feelings of the previous set, Technic Angel started off with a pulse-poundingly fast beat and maintains absolute dramatic tension for the duration of his set. Coupled with undoubtedly unique visuals, this is a show that everyone interested in creative dance music shows should check out at a festival near them.
