Great news for those who were a part of the SoCal EDM scene: The Yost Theater, home to several DJs throughout the 2010s, is coming back with a vengeance this year. SoCal entrepreneur, former Las Vegas resident DJ, and KIIS FM host Alex Dreamz (born Alex Becerra) posted photos of the exterior and interior of the venue as a sneak peek on Instagram. “From dreaming of DJing at this legendary OC venue to owning the biz, a full-circle moment for me,” he says in the post. “I’m very excited to provide more opportunities to local DJs, promoters, bar staff, and most important the DTSA community. Nightlife is coming back to OC’s arts district.”

To rev up for the big opening, all hands are needed on deck. Dreamz posted in a story that he’s looking for Promoters, Box Office staff, Bar staff, support, and VIP staff. In terms of DJs…well, let’s just say it may be good to wait to ask him to book you if you just clicked the follow button on his profile. “Be dope, be unique, provide value, but most important: create your own opportunities and make people come to you,” he says in a story. “It works.”

No word yet on who’s playing but the venue is scheduled to open this month. Check out Dreamz’s profile @alexdreamz on IG to get all the info on the coming opening and more he’s sharing about his own journey in Q&A format. To learn a little bit more about his background and why it’s quite appropriate to head the resurgence of The Yost, check out this profile of him in OC Weekly.
