Avicii’s tribute concert sold out in record time when it went on sale. It’s clear why; the musician influenced Dance Music’s rise to prominence with countless singles, and his fall from grace sparked a serious conversation about mental health amongst touring artists. Though many may not have the ability to see this tribute show live, today the Tim Bergling foundation announced that the show will be live-streamed to Facebook and YouTube. The foundation’s goals work to make sure an event like Avicii’s suicide never happens again:

“THE TIM BERGLING FOUNDATION WILL ADVOCATE FOR THE RECOGNITION OF SUICIDE AS A GLOBAL HEALTH EMERGENCY AND PROMOTE REMOVING THE STIGMA ATTACHED TO THE DISCUSSION OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. IT WILL SUPPORT SCIENCE-BASED ORGANIZATIONS THAT ENGAGE IN RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES AND PREVENTION OF SUICIDE, PARTICULARLY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE.

ADDITIONALLY, THE FOUNDATION WILL SUPPORT NON-PROFITS THAT ADDRESS ISSUES FOR WHICH TIM HAD A PASSION SUCH AS CLIMATE CHANGE, PRESERVATION OF ENDANGERED SPECIES, GLOBAL HUNGER, AND MORE.”

The Tim Bergling Foundation will donate all proceeds to mental health needs and suicide prevention for young people.

We want this concert to help put the topic on the agenda and pay attention to the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide. Policies and tools are needed to detect the risks and prevent suicide, especially among young people. — Klas Bergling, Avicii’s father

The concert will feature Laidback Luke, Nicky Romero, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, KYGO, and David Guetta. Tune in tomorrow from 7AM Pacific time.
