Seven Lions’ wife Emma Montalvo made a debut at the end of last month as house DJ Emmibabi. For those who may not have been at Mezzanine in San Francisco to witness it, she’s uploaded the full hour on her Soundcloud. The power hour is a load of melodic and dirty house music, including tracks from Tinlicker, Gorgon City, Grum, Fischer, Aitor Ronda, and Monolink. Considering she’s committed to an extremely gifted musician, this may just be the beginning of an incredible production career of her own.
Emma Montalvo also took the time to share her feelings on an IG post.
“I’m not even sure where to begin. It’s taken a lot of work for me (who has awful stage fright) to get myself up on stage in front of people and perform but I’m breaking out of that shell now and all of the love and energy I received from the crowd was overwhelmingly incredible! Thank you to @_westfest_ @sevenlionsmusic @ophelia_records for putting this epic event together. I went to my first electronic show in San Fran in 2007 and it has always been a special place for me in music. Getting to play @mezzaninesf was a dream! Thank you thank you! P.s. I recorded that set so I could share with with all of you who couldn’t make it. Stay tuned for more!”
