Kaaboo music festival held a successful night of activity, but yielded some issues following the end of the show. At 11PM that night, the afterparty’s bookings of Steve Aoki and Ludacris at ENCORE was a more popular hit than the promoters may have wanted. Several individuals got into an altercation with deputies manning the entrance. One deputy used pepper spray to help disperse the crowd. Officials in a sheriff’s helicopter, flying over the location, ordered attendees to clear the area. A total of 30 officials were attempting to control a crowd attempting to rush into a venue that had already reached capacity, leading to one of the deputies spraying pepper spray to disperse the crowd. Overall, about four were arrested but nobody was seriously injured.

Here’s the official statement from a KAABOO spokesperson:

“KAABOO and the Del Mar Fairgrounds apologize to those who were unable to enjoy ENCORE last night. The venue was at capacity. For the safety of our guests, security and the Sheriff’s Department dispersed any unruly crowds. There were no injuries.”
