Everybody’s preemptive celebration of zero deaths at EDC was sadly inaccurate, as the hospitalization of Kenani Kaimuola resulted in her death days later. According to local news, the cause of death was determined to be there separate factors: cocaine, ecstasy, and excessive heat.
As an advocate for safe and healthy partying, Insomniac advocates safety through their own health services, the hydration stations, and encouraging people to report anything concerning that they see. The festival itself saw this plan succeed, but the incident on the last day at 6AM saw an unfortunate delay in getting Kaimuola to the proper care.
