Gianfranco Pescetti created an ethereal single that explores the audio themes of nostalgia, mourning and new beginnings in The Wake. A subtle ambient tune that is breathed into life with a thumping basslines and kicks, one can’t help but feel a mix of emotions while listening to The Wake. Gianfranco Pescetti has definitely succeeded in evoking senses of sorrow, loss, and hope all in one track. The Wake‘s accompanying music video also takes viewers on a visual journey that is like looking towards the light at the end of the tunnel in all its various scenes.

“In writing The Wake, I sought out to create an instrumental piece that explores the theme of melancholy for a time past, death, and new beginnings. The title has a dual meaning, referring to both the practice of mourning and the path left behind by a boat, a symbol of movement and progress.”

Currently residing on the Hawaiian Island of Maui, Gianfranco Pescetti draws influence from the likes of Tycho, Apex Twin, and Boards of Canada. A composer as well as a producer, Pescetti has lived an extensive life in the arts having studied dance and ballet in addition to his dedication to music. He’s had his skin in the game since 1988 and shows no signs of slowing down.
