The future of Ultra Music Festival looks bright, even with the several complaints against it from Miami’s City Commission. The group of newer Miami residents who dislike the noise and resulting conditions of the Bayfront Park started gathering signatures for a petition to disallow the festival from returning. The timing was impeccable on their part, as the 5-year contract festival organizers had with the venue was reaching its end. The vote on whether or not Ultra stays has officially been delayed until September. Miami City Attorney Victoria Mendez told the Miami Herald the contract between Ultra and Miami had not been finalized, so the result is technically still up in the air. As not stands, a renewal for another 5 years could cost a minimum of $2 Million each year…that’s more than double what they pay now.
