Another major music festival has possibly fallen victim to being canceled. Tomorrowland 2020 is being rumored that it will be canceled this year. Tomorrowland is scheduled to take place in Boom, Belgium during the summer at the moment. Leaders and city officials in and around the town have expressed that they do not want the festival to take place due to coronavirus concerns. The mayor of Boom has expressed strong concerns over hosting the festival still in his city and has asked organizers to reconsider postponing the event or there may be further measures taken.

The battle between legislation and event organizers is a worldwide battle right now. Other major events like Ultra Miami, Beyond Wonderland, Coachella, SXSW, and EDC LV have already been canceled or postponed so unfortunately, we prepare mentally and emotionally for the pattern to continue and to receive the bad news. Tomorrowland has yet to release a statement on the matter yet but with political pressure on one side and attendee pressure on the other we are sure that we will be seeing an update soon. To the Tomorrowland ticket holders out there, we feel your pain and we are all going to get through this together.

A representative for the festival gave We Rave You the following statement:

“Sometimes something happens in the world and you get an uppercut that has far-reaching consequences. One major event after another is canceled worldwide. There is a lot of uncertainty because nobody really knows what the world will look like in a few months. We all realize that the festival summer is hanging on a thread and a little miracle will be needed to reverse this scenario. Tomorrowland is in close consultation with the local government and we are awaiting the instructions from the national government that we will follow closely at that time. It goes without saying that the well-being, health and safety of our visitors, crew, neighbors and everyone else involved is paramount.”
