Cami Peytn is a new voive in LA’s bubbling pop music scene. Known to be akin to singers such as Amy Winehouse and Billie Eilish, Cami Petyn offers her own edgy take on contemporary pop music, adding her own flare and style to set up her as one of the most unique rising stars of 2020. Music to Cami is a form of self-caring expression. To her, music turns pain into power. You will certainly find that theme through her lyrics such as her debut single, “Static”, a tune born out of an endless night of anxiety.
The song, “Static”, was birthed while having an existential crisis one night. I was panicking about the future, knowing I wanted to pursue music, but at the same time being full of such extreme self-doubt and anxiety. To say it lightly- I was an anxious wreck that night. Until, I decided to try to write about what I was feeling as a form of catharsis. And thus, a couple hours later, “Static” was born. Quite beautiful poetic irony that this is now my debut single as an official artist. – Cami Petyn
