The festival fatalities continue piling up thanks to the coronavirus. Within the past week, we have lost Ultra Miami, Tomorrowland Winter, Coachella, Stagecoach, Winter Music Conference, SXSW, and other shows around the country. Tours are being canceled, venues are being closed, even the NBA season has come to a halt. The World Health Organization dubbed it a global pandemic, and countries everywhere are scrambling to react. And yet, Insomniac pressed on.

The Governor of California Gavin Newsom recently issued new guidelines that recommend all gatherings of more than 250 people be canceled or postponed until at least the end of March. Now, at this moment the cancelation of large events isn’t mandatory, but anything can and will happen.

A fake image went out to EDCLV goers that had everyone in a stir, before realizing it was not real. As far as we knew, Insomniac Events were still a go. At around 9pm PST Wednesday night, Pasquale Rotella took to social media to make an announcement:

We all waited with baited breathe to hear the inevitable news that same night. The announcement finally came in today!

Due to coronavirus concerns, the two Insomniac festivals  – Beyond Wonderland in San Bernadino, California has been postponed to June 19th & 20th and EDC Las Vegas is still taking place in May as of right now.

See the announcement below. And as always, take care of yourself out there. Wash your hands and follow the guidelines established by the CDC to stay healthy. Festival season 2020 may be disrupted for now, but it does not mean that we won’t get to rave on later once this has passed.
